Dinner with the bachelorettes

My close girlfriends, from waaay back, and I got together for dinner the other night at the best Thai restaurant in non-Hollywood, LA. Samunluong in Pomona is our frequent hang--out. Amazing food, fast service, cheap prices. It's the triple threat--therefore, irresistible to Asians.
We try to meet about once a quarter for what we call a Hump Dinner--that refers to our "Dry Hump in the Suberbs" meetings. Yes, that's right--I said "Dry Hump."

This unsavory term evolved, as we considered ourselves the lighter, more innocent version of "Sex in the City" (our favorite show to watch together when we lived in a rickety old house many years ago, across from a crack den full of friendly children).
That is a story for another time.  But just so you know, I'm Carrie. Plus Charlotte. But agewise, I'm the Samantha. :(

Anyway, some snaps: Kimi, Kat in Hipstamatic retro-glory.

Here, Rita and I represent the married girls club (we used to call all 4 of us the GT Bachelorettes--now 50% membership is down, and the other 2 are spoken for--which makes sense--how cute are they?!!).

I was lady ga-ga over Kat's dress--she has always had really adventurous, funky, but classic style. This is lent to in part by her proximity to Melrose, her residence in West Hollywood, and her keen design eye.

So jealous of the dress that she picked up from a little boutique in Melrose for 10 bucks! Bugger! Check out the goods! Go Kat!

The way the roped back appears to wrap around into a belt makes the dress seem even, fun, perfectly proportioned. 'Course, the bra situation is minimal to absent, so can't plan on wearing this dress while crouched over gardening in front of your neighbor's house! Or could you...

Kat was thrilled about this dress as much as I was.

So I made her pose with me in my All-Anthro, All-the-Time outfit that I had just purchased. We didn't take pics of the huge amount of food we ate--mainly because we were too busy shoveling food into our mouths, and then it was quickly all gone. And we were only minimally embarrassed.

But that's one thing we've always had in common--good appreciation of food, great conversation, good style, and Sex in the City.
